I enjoy your site so much, I just started identifying flowers on my walks/hikes in MoCo, and it is the most helpful. Do you know any groups who do hikes together with the purpose of seeking out and identifying wildflowers and welcome newbies?
Hi, Beata – Maryland Native Plant Society does some walks, though they seem to be most active in the spring. If you’re on face book check out their page at https://www.facebook.com/Maryland-Native-Plant-Society-232641092294, or the related discussion group:

I’m not sure but I think the Virginia Native Plant Society is more active.
Other than these I don’t know of any groups.
