The orchid I was waiting for, downy rattlesnake plantain (aka Goodyera pubescens), has stared blooming. Only the lowest flower on the spike is open. It’s about a quarter of an inch wide.
Yeah, okay, so it isn’t much to look at. Still, it’s an orchid, and that’s good enough for me.
I agree! Any day with an orchid is a good one. 🙂
