  1. Nice; especially like the single spring beauty. FYI if you haven’t seen it yet this year, the sessile bellwort is blooming now. Also saw two wild geraniums blooming, and the pawpaw flowers are starting to open. I think you’ve already mentioned everything else I saw.

    • I haven’t seen the bellwort yet – haven’t even found any plants. The one area you told me about has a large tree down over where some of the plants used to grow. Maybe I need to look harder.

Also, THANK YOU for telling me about the area with C. bulbosa – I went out yesterday and got a few pictures. It was too windy for good shooting but I’m glad I got to see a big patch of them.

      • Glad you found them! They’re kind of hidden back there. The bellwort is still blooming today. I think you’re in the right spot. With the towpath behind you, and walking toward the mountain laurel area, the tree came down on the right side of the path, correct? And giant rootball kind of in the middle of the path? The bellwort is on the left side of the path, raised up a little. Big rock looms up behind the patch. I think there’s some saxifrage growing in the path right at the spot.

  2. LW, I did see the bellwort yesterday. They must bloom almost as soon as they come up from the ground, because I didn’t even see the plants a few days ago. I will post about them soon.
